NIRAS' collaboration with Myco4Food began with an initial evaluation of Myco4Food's first prototype bioreactor for solid-state fermentation (SSF).
Through a structured assessment of the prototype's design, NIRAS provided targeted recommendations that helped define the development path for the next generation of the SSF bioreactor.
In the subsequent phase, the work transitioned into a more technical and detailed development effort. NIRAS supported Myco4Food in determining the optimal dimensions for the new bioreactor and selecting key components, including heating, cooling and ventilation systems. The design team also produced engineering drawings to support the manufacturing of the pilot-scale bioreactor, ensuring that the design met both functional and operational requirements.
NIRAS also assisted Myco4Food in identifying a suitable manufacturer for the pilot bioreactor, converting the reactor design into practical realisation. This collaboration has advanced Myco4Food's SSF bioreactor technology and prepared it for the next stage of scale-up.
