NIRAS delivers traffic planning in all phases and for all forms of traffic: pedestrians, bicycles, cars, and collective traffic. There is an important human factor in traffic planning, so when we work with traffic planning, we make sure to look at all aspects, both the built environment and human behaviour.

Traffic planning in a holistic perspective

We look at traffic planning in a holistic perspective in close integration with NIRAS’ other planning skills such as urban planning, master plans and local plans, and anthropological analysis. We master traffic analysis in relation to total plans, master plans, and local plans, and we deliver traffic technical analysis for EIA work.

We carry out capacity and accessibility analyses, including VISSIM simulations of traffic management and we also possess competences within signal technology.

Traffic input to urban planning and design

In relation to urban and design, we deliver the traffic input for the physical layout of urban and traffic space in close relations with architects, landscape architects and road engineers.
