Integrating convenience retail within an operational pub site

Greene King Redevelopment

NIRAS provided consultancy services to Greene King for the redevelopment of a trading public house site in Salisbury. The aim was to introduce a new convenience retail offer within the existing pub curtilage while ensuring the public house could continue operating as an active part of the site.

The project involved the construction of a new 4,000 sq ft convenience store developer shell together with associated external works across the site. The layout and supporting infrastructure were carefully planned so the new retail unit could operate efficiently alongside the established hospitality offer, maintaining access and functionality for both uses.

As part of the wider scheme, a bank of high speed electric vehicle charging points was installed along with an associated electrical substation. This provided modern infrastructure for customers and visitors while supporting the site’s long term use.

Working closely with Greene King and the incoming tenant throughout the project, NIRAS helped deliver a well integrated development that balances retail and hospitality uses while enhancing the overall functionality of the site.
