Greenland is in our DNA
NIRAS was founded in 1956 — when Jørgen Kristian Nielsen and Konrad Rauschenberger, whose initials became NIRAS, set out to tackle some of Greenland’s toughest challenges. They brought a pioneering, hands-on mindset and a belief that engineering could solve real problems, even in the harshest conditions.
With permanent representation in Greenland since 1960, NIRAS has solved a long list of engineering consultancy assignments throughout the decades that have passed. Initially, Greenland was NIRAS’s most essential market area, and from the beginning we have taken an active part in the evolution of the Greenlandic society.

NIRAS’s core activities in Greenland revolve around large complex projects within civil infrastructure and the Mining industry.
