What's on the agenda?

TALK 1: HYGENIC DESIGN IN MANUFACTURING

Hygienic design in food and beverage, life sciences facilities is vital to ensure the safety and quality of the products you create.

This involves the use of materials, equipment, and building components that prevent contamination and facilitate easy cleaning. Integrating fire safety measures within the design is crucial to protect both the facility and the workforce.

Our speaker Chris Sparrow, Director of Architecture will be discussing:

  • First principles and standards - Foundations of hygienic design and compliance
  • Planning and scoping - Setting objectives and identifying critical priorities
  • Integrated building design - Aligning layout, materials, and hygiene needs
  • Retrofit - Adapting existing spaces to modern standards
  • Fire safety and strategies - Designing with protection and prevention in mind

TALK 2: BECOMING A CIP DETECTIVE: SPOTTING THE UNSEEN IN HYGIENIC DESIGN

In FMCG production where hygiene is key, the most common source of contamination is ineffective cleaning.

When issues arise, the challenge is not just fixing a problem but finding it. To borrow from Sherlock Holmes “the world is full of things which nobody by any chance ever observes”. This session will help you spot the clues before issues escalate.

Our speaker Nick Jones, Expertise Director will be exploring:

  • The basics of good hygienic design and effective CIP (Clean-in-Place)
  • What typically goes wrong - and why issues are often missed
  • How to investigate contamination like a “CIP detective”
  • Real - world examples of where poor design or cleaning has caused problems
