Sustainable Urban Water and Sanitation - SUWAS

Hands being washed

NIRAS is managing the International Training Programme on Sustainable Urban Water and Sanitation (SUWAS) - Integrated Processes.

These programmes are comprehensive capacity building interventions with the overarching objective to contribute to planning and implementation of better and sustainable urban water and sanitation services, where the rights, needs and demands of all citizens, including those of marginalised groups, are taken into account. They are implemented by NIRAS in cooperation with WaterAid.

We will start four new SUWAS programmes in 2020 and they are all described below. Please note that we are of course closely monitoring the development of the Covid-19 pandemic in the world. If necessary we will make adjustments in the set-up and structure of the programmes to ensure that they are implemented in the best way possible, given the very special circumstances. For example, the scheduled phase in Sweden might need to be re-scheduled to a later date. We kindly ask for your understanding on this matter. Welcome to contact us at itp@niras.se if you have any questions.
