Responsible business

LHK NIRAS 593A8957

We are actively working to minimise our own climate footprint and take responsibility for being a workplace with high levels of well-being and satisfaction among our employees

Climate targets in line with the Paris Agreement

NIRAS A/S is committed to reducing greenhouse gases with targets in line with the Paris Agreement reduction pathway.

We therefore aim to:

  • Reduce greenhouse gas emissions in scope 1 and 2 by 50% by 2026, with 2022 as baseline
  • Become carbon neutral in scope 1 and 2 by 2030
  • Reduce greenhouse gas emissions in scope 3 by 25% by 2030
  • Reach net-zero by 2050 in scope 1, 2 and 3

As a consulting business however, our main contribution to sustainable development is rooted in the thousands of projects where we together with our clients and partners deliver sustainable impact everyday.

Our work supports our clients in becoming important contributors to the realisation of sustainable initiatives such as lower greenhouse gas emissions, responsible use of resources, job creation, better health, etc.

In the end, what counts are the results – solutions that can be measured, tested, and bring lasting value to business and society.

NIRAS is obligated to reduce the use of resources

NIRAS will make requirements for procurement focusing on buying green and minimising waste.

We have developed a policy with requirements for procurement that are currently being implemented. This includes initiatives like minimising transportation by flight, food waste, reuse of IT equipment and furniture and other initiatives.
