Are you motivated by the green energy transition and want to contribute to realizing renewable energy at larger scale? Do you want to participate in large scale offshore wind farm projects in close collaboration with an international team?
We are looking for a talented and experienced geotechnical engineer with a proven track record in offshore wind farm projects and/or marine/offshore structures to be part of our activities in offshore, coastal and marine markets. You should have a flavour for project management and a desire to work across the disciplines and with colleagues in geophysics, geology and geotechnical engineering.
The geoscience resides in the geotechnical department in the Marine, Geotechnical, Tunnels and Bridges Business Unit. The business unit consists of +100 staff situated in Denmark, UK and Dubai, while also collaborating closely with offshore and marine energy colleagues in Sweden, Norway, Taiwan, Philippines and Vietnam.
You will join a growing and dynamic team of around 15 staff of passionate and knowledgeable geologists, geophysicists and geotechnical engineers, who actively contributes to the green transition through development projects in offshore wind, ports/terminals/harbours, coastal developments, tunnels, bridges and related infrastructure.
We are part of the Infrastructure Division, which works in a highly international environment with projects all over the world from our offices in Scandinavia, UK/Scotland, Middle East and APAC.
As Senior Geotechnical Engineer you will lead and participate in NIRAS projects while enabling your knowledge, competences and experience to deliver world class projects to and with our clients. Typical activities include:
- Site selection, feasibility studies and concept designs for offshore wind, lead and provide relevant geotechnical input to site conditions
- Planning and interpretation of offshore geotechnical site surveys
- Geotechnical design of offshore support structures including numerical modelling
- Geotechnical engineering within other civil engineering disciplines: marine, coastal and ports
- Documenting project results as well as attending and conducting project meetings with clients
- Coordination of project developments in the bid and execution phases
- Management of the geotechnical discipline within projects; aligning project-specific objectives, time schedules and end-deliverables for individual surveys, and data acquisition campaigns, together with geophysical surveys and geotechnical engineering colleagues.
- Contribution to technical developments as well developing geological and geophysical assessment workflows and implementing innovative new technology and ways of working
- Close cooperation with other locations across Europe, UK and APAC
- Liaison with external and internal stakeholders/clients
About you

To succeed in this position:
- master’s degree or PhD in civil engineering, preferably with a focus geotechnical engineering,
- Minimum of 5 or more years of work and practical experience in geotechnical engineering, wind energy and/or numerical modelling and seismic design,
- You have experience working in the offshore wind or oil and gas industry,
- You can work on your own initiative, but also enjoy working in a team,
- An outgoing personality which feels comfortable with interfacing internal and external stakeholders
- You are a communicative personality that can interface comfortably with clients,
- You describe your way of working as reliable, solution-oriented and systematic
- Fluent in both written and spoken English when interfacing with various disciplines and stakeholders, both in person and virtually
