As part of the Syd-EX joint venture, NIRAS has been selected to bid on the Copenhagen Sydhavnsmetro. Only four out of ten applicants have been prequalified.
On June 13, the Syd-EX joint venture will submit its bid on constructing the Sydhavnsmetro branch off the coming Metro City Ring in Copenhagen.
The Syd-EX joint ventures consists of PORR Bau GmbH, NIRAS, Implenia Construction GmbH and ILF Consulting Engineers, and has been prequalified for the construction of the Copenhagen Sydhavnsmetro in a strong field of 10 applicants whereof only four have been prequalified.
NIRAS is leading the design part of the joint venture and has allocated room for the tender team including engineers from Porr Bau (Austria), Implenia (Germany) and ILF Consulting Engineers (Austria) in its Allerød headquarters. By working physically close to each other, the team will be able to work more efficiently than if the partners were to work apart.
“This is more or less a prerequisite due to a very tight deadline. But at the same time it’s a very giving experience with a great deal of knowledge building and sharing,” project manager Malene Nygaard Kristensen from NIRAS says.
Executive Director for Infrastructure Carsten Heine Lund is thrilled that NIRAS has been selected to bid on the Copenhagen Metro.
“We are happy and proud to be selected for this very interesting project. Building on our previous experience within large-scale infrastructure combined with our comprehensive knowledge within deep excavations and underground structures we are ready to take on the challenge,” Carsten Heine Lund states.
