Shell laboratories and drum filling station for petrol
NIRAS Safety prepared zone classification reports for Shell’s laboratories at the refinery in Fredericia, and for the drum filling station where petrol drums are filled and stored on the docks in Fredericia. At Shell’s laboratories the refined oil products are analyzed by use of e.g. flammable gasses and solvents.
At the dock area 200 litre drums are filled with petrol amongst other substances in a drum filling station, and the drums are stored in the buildings before being shipped. An oil separator works as an overfall basin for petrol amongst other substances and is shielded from the road in order to limit the zone to not include the road. The zone classification reports determine the zone types and extent of the emissions sources. The emission sources stem from liquids- and gas installations including laboratories.
