NIRAS is targeting the British wind energy market with the opening of a new business in Cambridge, UK.
NIRAS has worked with wind energy since the seventies and is a consultant on all of the Danish offshore wind farms. NIRAS has been operating on the UK market for the past eight years and is currently involved in approximately 30% of the UK’s wind farms.
”This is the perfect time to establish a local presence. We expect the opening of the new office to provide us with easier access to local customers and to strengthen our position as a serious player on the UK market”, says Helle Hegelund Knudsen, market director for wind energy at NIRAS.
NIRAS is working in partnership with Tim Norman who has been appointed managing director of the new business. Tim has a strong background in wind energy and has worked with numerous offshore wind farm developers. Over the next three years, NIRAS expects to employ a staff of 15 to handle new projects in the UK.
