Protection of personnel, vehicles and structures against weapons, explosions and landmines

We are specialists in the design of lightweight systems for the protection of personnel, vehicles, ships, aircraft and installations against weapon effects such as ballistics and landmines.

In our design we make optimal use of lightweight materials, such as ceramics and fibre-reinforced laminates.

Since the 9.11.01 action NIRAS has also supported Danish industry and Danish embassies in the protection of buildings against explosions and weapon effects from terror actions. Furthermore, in 2005 a Ph.D. Study of Blast Protection of building structures was commenced in co-operation with the Technical University of Denmark.
