On solid ground
To extend the durability of a bridge or a block of flats the construction
needs to be placed on solid ground. Preventing unforeseen damages to the
construction of a new shopping centre, an offshore wind farm or a motorway
requires geotechnical investigations. If the walls of a building start to
crack geotechnical analyses are necessary to determine the cause.
NIRAS carries out geotechnical investigations related to all of the above.
Designing large offshore wind farms or hydroelectric power plants also
requires detailed geotechnical analyses. As such, our geotechnical services
complement all other branches of NIRAS and we thrive on working in
interdisciplinary teams.
Our own laboratory
NIRAS has established a laboratory with facilities to carry out
geotechnical research. Having research facilities close at hand guarantees
our customers a coherent consulting process.
