NIRAS is growing expansively in Sweden

On Wednesday, 10 June, NIRAS signed an agreement on the acquisition of TP Group, a Swedish company with more than 100 employees. TP Group has offices in four Swedish towns, in Finland and in Estonia. TP Group specialises in project and construction management and consultancy for builders, developers and professional leaseholders.  TP Group will be organised into an independent division within NIRAS.

With effect from 1 July 2008, TP Group will become a part of NIRAS Group AS and it is our vision to work together to create a new and exciting consultancy firm in the Baltic region. This extra strength in Sweden, Finland and Estonia will provide us with a powerful base in the countries bordering the Baltic Sea and means that we will become the market leader in a number of our areas of competence.

Both parties will be strengthened
When NIRAS welcomes a new member to its family, it is essential that the new situation is of clear benefit to both parties.  In this case, NIRAS’ presence in Sweden, Finland and the Baltic countries will be strengthened significantly and we will acquire several core competences and experience in some of the business areas we wish to develop.

TP Group specialises in more commercial and strategic consultancy aimed at the construction industry and, therefore, paves the way for us to supply new customers with our existing competences. Further, it enables us to raise the level of our consultancy on the value chain. TP Group will gain a strong and reliable owner and, thus, the potential to develop and expand their business and development plans.

NIRAS' core competences in the fields of, e.g., the environment, indoor climate and fire safety engineering will provide TP Group with a broad range of products that have been requested by their customers.  Together, we will be able to exploit completely new market opportunities in Denmark and Poland.

Business as usual
The merger will not result in any organisational changes. TP Group will continue to follow its current business plan, the management team will remain in place and all employees will retain their current positions.

As mentioned, TP Group will become an independent division within NIRAS.  Therefore, TP Group’s managing director, Jan Leife, will become a member of NIRAS’ executive committee and the chairman of TP Group’s board of directors, Bo Sundberg, will join NIRAS’ board of directors.
