PrintTwo Significant EU Framework Contracts for NIRAS
The Danish consulting engineering firm NIRAS has just won two significant EU
framework contracts in environment and regional development/foodstuffs
safety.
Over the next two years NIRAS will co-ordinate and carry out projects
in Eastern Europe and developing countries in Asia, Africa and Latin
America.
Head of Department Claus Jørgensen has no doubts about the reason for
NIRAS’ success. ”NIRAS is heading two teams consisting of firms from a
number of European countries. They are strong teams, both with respect to
professionalism and experience. And this is precisely what counts here.”
The contracts run for two years and if things go well for NIRAS it may be
possible to extend them for a further two years: ”We tend to do a very good
job, so we are very confident. In the meantime we’re looking forward to
getting started on the projects,” says Claus Jørgensen.
NIRAS is one of Scandinavia’s largest consultancies on the environment
and agriculture. Last year the firm was strengthened by the purchase of
Scanagri, a company that works on agricultural, foodstuffs safety and
regional development projects in Eastern Europe and developing countries.
Today the firm’s environmental and energy division has a staff of 250.
