PrintDanish director advisor to the Polish Deputy Prime Minister
The Polish Deputy Prime Minister, Waldemar Pawlak, has appointed a group of
foreign advisors, one of whom is NIRAS’ international director Karol
Marcinkowski.
- I am glad that you have accepted the invitation to cooperate. I also
expect that, as a group, we will contribute to the development of the
contact between Poland and the countries in which you live and do business.
In times of crisis, it is important to make contact with new trade
partners, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Economy
Waldemar Pawlak when he officially presented the nominations to the members
of the Minister for Trade and Economy’s foreign advisory board on 16
January 2009 in Warsaw.
The Minister for Trade and Economy appoints the foreign advisory board for
a 3-year period. Individual advisors may be nominated for more than one
period. The position of foreign advisor is an honorary post. The task of
the Minister for Trade and Economy’s foreign advisors is, among other
things, to cooperate with the Ministry:
-
in creating a legal framework that is beneficial to the business
community,
-
in monitoring markets, information about commercial development and
investment opportunities,
-
by participating actively in issues of benefit to the Polish business
community,
-
in connection with the development of Poland’s economic strategy,
-
in providing support and organisational assistance in connection with
trade fairs, commercial delegations and campaigns,
-
in providing information about emerging threats to Polish commercial
interests and Polish enterprises in the advisor’s country of residence.
The advisory board is made up of recipients of the Eugeniusz Kwiatkowski
award “for outstanding contributions to the development of the commercial
cooperation between expatriate Poles and their native country”. This prize
is awarded to business leaders who have achieved commercial and financial
success in their adoptive countries, have knowledge of the economic
conditions and current legislation and have a broad business network.
