Design award given to DR Concert Hall
The DR concert hall has received a design award in the category of “Best new public building” from design and lifestyle magazine Wallpaper. One of Wallpaper’s arguments for the award - which officially announces that the concert hall was the world’s best public building in 2009 - was that the concert hall is one of French architect Jean Nouvel’s most complex constructions ever.

NIRAS focuses on water in Abu Dhabi
During the recent years, NIRAS has been involved in a big water- and sewerage project in the Emirates. Youngsters from Tanzania played soccer with NIRAS as sponsor
NIRAS-sponsored MTWARA’S youth soccer team, FC Vito, from Tanzania competed in the 33rd Helsinki U-11 tournament in Finland in the first week of July. The 11-years old youngsters were positioned third in their group with two wins, one draw and two losses. Teams' top scorer has been Yusufu Hamidu with five goals. Altogether FC Vito has scored 14 goals and allowed 12.

Prestigious award presented to the DR Concert Hall’s architect, Jean Nouvel
The architect behind the Danish national broadcasting corporation’s (DR) new concert hall in DR-byen (TV City), Jean Nouvel, is to be honoured with the prestigious international Pritzker Prize, also known as the Nobel Prize of architecture. He receives the award for his many original contributions to the art of architecture.  The DR Concert Hall in Copenhagen is one of his most recent works.

Power plants will reduce CO<sub>²</sub> emissons
Energy efficient power plants for Coca-Cola Hellenics production facilities will reduce the annual CO² emissions from the production by more than 20%. NIRAS has been selected by the power development company ContourGlobal to provide technical assistance within the design and implementation of the 15 power plants.

Urban Renewal with the EU Project IRMA

News office opened in Copenhagen
DR (Danish Broadcasting Corporation) has moved all its activities to new facilities: The New Radio & TV House (DR Byen), in the northern part of Ørestad in Copenhagen. 19th November DR broadcasted its first news programme from DR Byen’s brand new news office, where the TV and radio production of news and sport are fused together in attractive new surroundings.

Since September last year the consulting engineering firm NIRAS has succeeded in establishing a good foothold in the environmental area in Sweden.
