On-the-spot extraction and ventilation

TheTexas Principle

Texas was one of the first to perform local extraction for personal computers. It is designed to be used anywhere electronic equipment is giving off extensive heat, noise and chemical discharges.

Computers and other electrical installations can pollute the air indoors, in addition to emitting heat into the room. Normal air conditioners extract all the air from the entire room many times per hour. This is expensive both in terms of electricity consumption and in setting up the enormous ventilation machinery. What is more, the pollution still affects the organisms of the staff members or residents. But why not extract precisely at the point where it is needed – at the actual sources of the pollution?

Hospitals have in fact been using on-the-spot extraction for many years. The American electronic concern Texas was the first company in the world to install on-the-spot extraction for all its computers. The excess heat and gases were removed at the precise location from which they were emitted and were piped away under the floor.

It is best for the indoor climate if heat and pollution from electronic equipment are not mixed with the air we inhale. In the Winter Palace the built-in air shafts are now being used to remove pollution and poor-quality air directly.
