PrintTopping-out ceremony ahead of schedule in DR-byen
The final and biggest topping-out ceremony in DR-byen has been launched. On
21st March the final rafter was lifted into place and fixed onto the steel
pillars that had been fitted.
The 1800-tonne rafter was fitted during the last seven weeks without
complications, so our topping-out ceremony was launched earlier than
planned. DR-byen’s official topping-out ceremony will take place around
Sankt Hans Day (24th June).
The next big step is to fit 76 specially manufactured wall elements in the
concert hall. They each weigh up to 25 tonnes. The first wall elements have
already been lifted into place. This was done a couple of weeks before the
last rafter was fitted. They are in the northern part and can be seen in
the picture to the left.
A State-of-the-Art facade
The spectacular facade will be fitted around the concert hall in the coming
months. When it is completed the facade construction will be a symbol of
the most distinguished engineering achievements.
