Customer: Rigshospitalet – Copenhagen University Hospital
Project Date: 2010-2017
In Denmark, large hospitals are being expanded to form super-sized hospitals, and the authorities see NIRAS as a valuable consultant on hospital construction projects. This was confirmed in the spring of 2010 when Copenhagen University Hospital awarded NIRAS the project of client advisor on the large-scale extension to the hospital.
The overall plan for the project has a budget of a almost 1 billion euros. The first phase amounts to 250 million euros, and work is expected to continue until 2017. NIRAS will follow the building process from completion of the construction programme, through project competition to project engineering and implementation. NIRAS is also acting as client advisor on the new university hospitals in Aarhus and Odense, and we are advisors on another of Denmark’s largest hospitals, Herlev Hospital, as well as several of the local hospitals in the country.
We are pleased with the trust the Danish authorities have placed in us, and we do not take it for granted. Instead, we use our experience to ensure continual development of our consultancy for the benefit of the developers with whom we cooperate as well as the patients and treatment providers who will be using the new physical surroundings.
