NIRAS has developed several landscape plans in large social housing areas. Central for this planning is the local residents. Physical planning often serves as a ‘lever’ into possible social housing initiatives and must thus be seen as a fruitful interaction between the residents and the actual physical resources. NIRAS plans processes with the ambition of strengthening the residents’ sense of ownership of and belonging to the open spaces and facilities of their housing area.
