Development is in itself dynamic and multifaceted. Therefore, our approach is strategic, and we believe that the planning tools should be capable of handling and directing the natural dynamics of cities in order to achieve long-term objectives. Moreover, our approach is cross-sectoral in order to address the complexity of modern urbanity.
We have extensive experience in development strategies. This ranges from the development of countries – with Iraq as the latest prominent example – to the physical development of new cities, existing urban cores and towns with a strategic focus. We incorporate relevant professions and themes in our work – mostly including analysis, urban design, environmental planning and traffic planning and often incorporating experience economy, water management or economic analysis.
A resource-bound approach enables us to focus on the specific potentials in a given area, and we often take as our starting point the primary resource in any place– i.e. the people inhabiting it. Therefore, the task is often solved in a participatory, democratic process where we include our experience in process design and stakeholder participation as well as our expertise in topics central to development planning – agricultural planning, tourism, cultural heritage, landscape planning and nature management.
