NIRAS' GeoProbe® equipment can perform site investigations of a high professional quality, using state of art technology, and at a financially attractive cost. With this equipment, we are able to localise, characterize, and delineate the size of the contaminated area, and to monitor and document the spreading of the pollution - at a very competitive price compared with the traditional investigation methods.
The typical target compounds are chlorinated solvents, fuel constituents and landfill gas. GeoProbe investigations can be carried out to a depth of 25-30 meters below ground level in areas with an appropriate geology, and NIRAS has more than 10 years of experience using the system.
The suite of tools that can be deployed using the GeoProbe platform is constantly evolving, and NIRAS is closely involved in developing and testing the system together with the manufactures. We are currently offering the following services on a commercial basis:
- MIP investigations for especially chlorinated solvents using the latest probes and detectors – including near real-time MS identification of the compounds in the trunk line
- Depth specific sampling of Ground water & Soil gas from both temporary screen points and pre-packs installed with the GeoProbe system
- Depth specific slugtest using the GeoProbe “Slugtest Kit” within the standard groundwater sampling tool and subsequent calculation of the hydraulic conductivity
- On-Site analysis of soil, ground water, and soil gas using a broad suite of our own instruments such as field GC’s, field MS, Infrared analyzers, Photoacoustic analyzers, and standard PID-instruments
- Conductivity investigations using a specific probe
- Sampling of intact soil cores from discrete depth intervals for detailed characterization
- Installation of FLUTe liners to detect residual phase NAPL
