NIRAS has extensive experience with consultancy concerning all phases of the remedial activities, from the preparation of the remediation programme to the final test, operation, and monitoring phase. We work for public and private customers in compliance with national legislation, and we always evaluate in detail the range of appropriate scenarios tailored to the specific site. This enables our clients to make a choice based on an overview of economy, sustainability, and robustness; a choice we will then implement. In more complex cases, risk-based remediation goals are derived using advanced modelling tools, and clean-up criteria negotiated with the regulators.

  • Excavation/drilling and disposal of contaminated soil & sediment
  • On site cleanup of soil by biological treatment
  • Pump & Treat and on-site water treatment
  • Physical In-situ methods (Vacuum/Bio ventilation, Air-sparging)
  • Chemical In-Situ methods (Oxidation by persulphate, permanganate and ozone/reduction by iron)
  • Thermal In-Situ methods (Steam enhanced recovery (DUS) and Conductive heating (ISTD))
  • Biological In-Situ methods (Enhanced reductive dechlorination (ERD) of chlorinated ethenes)
