In Ukraine (Management of Two Agro-based Value Chains, Danida 2010-2013) and Zambia (Support to PROFIT Smallholder Dairy Industry Development Program, 2007-2011, USAID) NIRAS is working with value chains development analysis to ensure growth by promoting the linkages between the various actors. By linking producers, processors, traders, retailers and consumers, interventions are made to overcome key constraints. Such interventions are coupled with the institutional and policy/legislative framework to design interventions with chain wide impact.
Likewise in Nepal (Nepal Highland Mountain Agribusiness and Livelihood Improvement Project ADB, 2009-2010) and in Ethiopia (Support to Agriculture-based economic growth in the Tana Beles Growth Corridor in Amhara Regional National State, MFA Finland 2010) NIRAS designed large Agribusiness programmes based on the Value Chain analysis approach.
