In Vietnam (Designing Quality and Safety Improvement of Agricultural Products Project, ADB, 2008-2009) and the Pacific (Developing regulations, standards and written guidance for WHO member countries and areas in the Pacific for World Health Organisation, 2009-2010) NIRAS has been working with the framework for general Food Quality and Safety Standards in advising governments on supporting laws and regulations and build institutional capacity in managing, monitoring and executing (e.g. prepare guidelines and train inspection staff).
In Uganda (Agri Business Initiative (aBi) Trust Fund, Danida 2010-2014) NIRAS provides assistance in preparing manuals on food safety regulations and standards, both mandatory and voluntary, for various chain actors and advise on management systems that meet international product quality and safety standards.
