Through the last few decades NIRAS has been involved in constructing a whole series of shopping centres both in Denmark, Sweden and Poland. We have been a part of every aspect of the construction process from the early market analyses and negotiating with the authorities through EIA-reports and the detailed design, planning and construction of the shopping centres.
NIRAS has extensive experience in making the provisions in the law on planning operational so that the wishes and demands for the construction can be realized within the boundaries of the regulations.
NIRAS focuses on defining and fulfilling the criteria for success for each of the process stakeholders. It is fundamental, that for example the infrastructure, logistics, flexibility, building framework and how the centre is experienced can match the expectations and needs of various combinations of lease-holders.
Our services range from technical due diligence in connection with buying and selling existing centres – to using our core competences for consulting on for example environmental, fire safety and indoor climate issues when planning new shopping centres.
As consultant engineers NIRAS has been involved in establishing some of Europe’s largest and most complex shopping centres – but also in constructing several less complex buildings meant for the retail industry. No matter the purpose or the size of the shopping centre we use our experience to optimise the process with regard to time and economy keeping in mind the final result.
