Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) - Aims
- To make the most cost efficient fire safety solutions, while maintaining an appropriate safety level.
- To make “impossible” structures possible, allowing increased flexibility in architectural design.
- To identify and address critical tenability areas within buildings.
In past projects CFD has been used to achieve:
- Reduced/eliminated fire rated glazing requirements.
- Reduced/eliminated requirements for sprinkler protection.
- Vastly improved fire safety with small measures applied at critical locations.
- Buildings not permitted under the local building legislation made permissible.
