Smoke modelling

Smoke-modelling

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) - Aims

  • To make the most cost efficient fire safety solutions, while maintaining an appropriate safety level.
  • To make “impossible” structures possible, allowing increased flexibility in architectural design.
  • To identify and address critical tenability areas within buildings.

In past projects CFD has been used to achieve:

  • Reduced/eliminated fire rated glazing requirements.
  • Reduced/eliminated requirements for sprinkler protection.
  • Vastly improved fire safety with small measures applied at critical locations.
  • Buildings not permitted under the local building legislation made permissible.
